The Ceriatone TW series represents our take on yet another famous, rare amplifier line from the United States.
The Ceriatone Liverpull is heavily inspired by the solid-state rectified, quad EL84 model, and like the dual EL34 model, considered to be a prime example of rock lead tone. Worth noting is this amplifier’s unique ability to obtain both chimey, jangly clean tones and searing high gain just by using those funny controls on your guitar (who knew they were good for something?). The Liverpull has a different midrange, and a slightly different compression due to the cathode-biased EL84s. In our humble opinion, the Liverpull may be better suited to single coil guitars than the Expression.
Part of the brilliance in the design is in its simplicity and no-compromises approach to component placement, lead dress, and trying to maintain as unaltered a signal path as possible. We have kept this approach, but allowed flexibility by offering two different output transformer primary impedances for slightly different feel and harmonic content, as well as two different power transformer secondaries for different plate voltages, again further tuning the feel to your preference.
Like other Ceriatone amps, we have labored carefully to select the finest components to suit the design, and the Expression uses our specially designed and correct specification custom transformers for superior reliability, frequency response, and feel.
