The incredible British amplifiers expertly built in the late ‘60s and ‘70s inspired us to create the Ceriatone Hey What series.
The Ceriatone Hey What 504OL is the 50W head that features an added gain stage compared to the standard 504. Made in an era where another British manufacturer added a gain stage and master volume control, the 504OL saw a different flavor of the famous Hey What tone.
The 504OL maintains the same signature width of sound as the 504, but with much more gain available. As such, it does not have the clean headroom available in the 504 or 103, but does offer a more singing tone that works in all rock settings.
The sound of a Hey What is different than other amplifiers. We consider it extremely balanced, and responds SO well to all guitars, pedals, etc. In particular, the 504OL is home some of the most articulate crunch and lead tones, ever. All of this wrapped up with a military-spec construction technique, and you have the unsung hero of guitar amplification.
Like other Ceriatone amps, we have labored carefully to select the finest components to suit the design, and the 504OL uses our specially designed custom transformers for superior reliability, frequency response, and feel.
