The classic American amplifiers of the ‘50s and ‘60s inspired us to create the, errrrr, American Classic series.
The Ceriatone Prinzetone amplifier is based on the dual 6V6 1×10 combo made in the mid and late ‘60s.
Compared to others in this series, the Prinzetone has a more traditional “blackface” tonestack known for its clarity and musical, yet subdued midrange. We have improved the midrange response, and also added a neat boost switch that defeats the tonestack. With the Boost engaged, the breakup and frequently response are both decidedly more “tweed” in nature.
We also kept the amazing tremolo circuit, which we believe is superior to the later “optical”-type tremolo seen in the larger “blackface” amplifiers of this period.
Like other Ceriatone amps, we have labored carefully to select the finest components to suit the design, and the Prinzetone uses our specially designed custom transformers for superior reliability, frequency response, and feel.
